He legally didn't have a leg to stand on. ![]() Long and short of it is that he has now agreed to give my parents mate a legit version of Office2003 for money already paid. Now lets sort this now, or it WILL go further. Him: I can't just give you a copy of office, they already have it installed. Me: I will pop over in about 20 minutes, you can sell xxxxxxx a legit copy of Office 2003 for the money thay have already been paid, and we can call it quits. Me: No, please don't mess around, we both know what is going on here, and it can be VERY easily solved without any need to go further. Him: I'll have to investigate this and get back to you. Now I have the invoice here, and it does say OEM on it, but this is not a final build. Me: Well, that really doesn't seem to be the case, as there is no OEM backup CD, install CD or such, and this does seem to be a leaked beta. ![]() Him: That's odd, I installed an OEM version. Me: Yes, it's a beta that got publicly leaked, one of the more popular ones. Him: I don't install beta's are you sure? Him: The build number is not relevant, there haven't been many updates to 2003 so far other than the SP, so thats cool. Me: Well, we are trying to update to SP1 to allay some junkmail issues, but SP1 is telling me it finds an unexpected version of Office. ![]() Him: Ok, no worries, what seems to be up? Me: Hi, I'm calling on behalf of xxxx, you built a computer for them a few month back, and we are having a little problem with MS Office.
